Intercity Transit is currently recruiting for the fulltime position of Accounting Specialist. The Specialist will perform specialized tasks in support of the functional areas of payroll and accounts receivable.  Excellent benefits include: health insurance, PERS and deferred comp retirement plans, and paid sick and vacation leave. Wage range is $24.59 to $33.19 per hour.


  • Enter daily and biweekly payroll information into database.
  • Process/prepare and audit time sheets, leave request slips, and weekly overtime calculation report.
  • Enter and audit benefits.
  • Prepare and audit balance sheet for biweekly payroll.
  • Maintain payroll related files, and transfer electronic payroll files.
  • Process quarterly and year-end payroll reports.
  • Prepare and balance accounts receivables.


  • Associates degree.
  • Three years of directly related professional payroll experience that includes payroll hours and deductions entry, reconciliation, auditing, and report processing. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience in referencing multiple union contracts is preferred.
  • Experience using computers and payroll related MS Office software applications; ability to quickly adapt to unfamiliar software programs.
  • Skilled in precise data entry, recordkeeping, and reporting; work must reflect strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Customer service skills that reflect courtesy and dependability while maintaining a positive attitude and contributing to a diverse team environment.
  • Must be reliable with regular, predictable attendance. Payroll must be processed every other week.
  • Must be willing to submit to a criminal background investigation, the results of which must meet the agency’s hiring criteria.
